The Alpacas won the toss and opted to bowl, immediately putting pressure on as Rutvik Botadra picked up two quick wickets. Papatoetoe were 49/4 when Navi Deol and Dilpreet Singh came in and started to make runs. It was slow going, however, especially for Singh, who eventually made 47 from 126 balls. Papatoetoe could only withstand so much pressure. Botadra got his five-for, and Taine Jolley gave away just 14 runs off 10 overs. After 73 overs Papatoetoe were all out for 203.
Howick Pakuranga then needed to score quickly, because Papatoetoe have already shown they can block out an attack when they need to. This didn’t get off to a great start when opener Andrew Morrison was dismissed for 0. Fellow opener Daniel Young made his half-century before close of play, and Brian Barnard finished the day on 74 from 61 balls.

| Premier Women's Lily Mulivai brings up half-century in first-class One Day debut for Northern Spirit |

 | | Premier Women's Lily Mulivai had a great day out with the bat last Saturday as she debuted for the Northern Spirit at Pukekura Park against the Central Hinds. Going in at eight and not phased with her team on 6-47, she blasted 63 runs off 55 balls which included 10 fours and helped the Spirit to a respectable total of 187. Well done Lily, we look forward to seeing plenty more runs against your name for the remainder of the season - for both the red and pink! |

Coaching Corner - Coaching/Umpiring/Scoring Qualifications |

- Foundation Course (an email address is required for initial registration) - this course is a requirement to coach all soft ball and tennis ball grades and can be completed all online.
- Advanced Foundation Course - the Foundation Course is a pre-requisite for this and involves theory as well as practical components. This is a requirement to coach all junior boys (U19 and below) and girls (U16 and below) grades.
