This week we move to Level Two-Covid response. While it seems relatively straightforward, there will be some conditions around the use of the Kolmar building and Indoor Centre that will be in place to safeguard all the facility users that will need to be followed. Kolmar Management are meeting on Wednesday to brief their staff on what that means. The Club is taking advice from Auckland Council and Auckland Cricket and will communicate that to Centre management but ultimately the decisions and process will sit with the Kolmar Board and staff.
For the Cricket Club, the main consideration will be the booking and use of the Indoor Centre.
At this stage, access will only be through the front door and past Reception. For casual or individual bookings, the Centre will only be accessible if a Kolmar staff member is operating the front desk. Those hours will be set by Kolmar Management this week and will be in the newsletter next week.
The Club will be confirming its own booking for the off-season this week. This will be for winter programs and off and preseason squad training, not for individuals or small private groups, irrespective if they are members or not.
If you are intending to make a booking or bookings in the next few weeks, please email me your request at; firstname.lastname@example.org and I will work with Kolmar Operations to do the best we can to meet your request.
Keep in mind the charge per member for a private booking is $15 per hour, per lane.
Coaching qualification courses for coaches will be available in Term 3 from July 20. Keep your eye out in the newsletter or on the website for information regarding dates etc. and we will get you on a suitable course.
The Club is running an appeal requesting donations. It is no secret that the months from March until subs collection in September are very low in income stream options. That is especially so at the moment without gaming machine Trust support or sponsorship income. On the other side, there is no question now that NZ Cricket and Auckland Cricket are putting the burden to operate twelve months of the year. The Club is appealing for donations. Please consider the request as one of the key areas that the Club needs to strengthen is fundraising. We do our best to keep subscriptions at a very affordable level, but we do need income to meet all our commitments. Every little bit helps and it is tax-deductible.
This Saturday I will be at the Centre from 10 am -12 noon. I would like all the Club gear that is currently held by Club members to be returned at that time so I can hold a stocktake and assess what will be needed for next season. If you do have any of our gear can you text (021607537) or email me beforehand and I will arrange a time to meet you at the Club to return it back to us.
